The Senior Director for Student Life will provide strategic vision, leadership, and administrative oversight for student engagement programs and services at the University of Central Oklahoma. This role focuses on promoting student success, personal development, and holistic engagement to foster a vibrant campus culture and strengthen student retention.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic vision, leadership, and administrative oversight for programs and services that promote student success, personal development, and holistic engagement of students.
- Foster a vibrant campus culture and advance initiatives that strengthen student retention, persistence, and completion.
- Develop, implement, and manage activities, programs, and services related to student organizations, student leadership opportunities, and other campus activities.
- Develop and execute short and long-term plans, goals, and objectives for programs to ensure alignment with university goals.
- Monitor and report on participation and satisfaction, and recommend improvements.
- Develops, implements, and authorizes the expenditures of department and fee-funded group budgets.
- Oversee staff, student employees, and volunteers.
- Oversee safety and compliance with university risk management standards for related events.
- Coordinate major campus-wide programs such as Stampede Week, WinterGlow, and Homecoming.
- Direct and coordinate staff in the development of departmental strategic plans, goals, and objectives in alignment with university priorities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Extensive work experience providing expert knowledge of fundamental theories, principles, and concepts of collegiate student affairs
- Record of successful and innovative experience in college leadership and administration
- 5+ years of experience in leading planning, including program development and innovation, program prioritization, and assessment
- Experience with leadership and fiscal management
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field
- 5+ years of experience in the field with leading planning, including program development and innovation, program prioritization, and assessment.
Nice to Have
- Terminal degree in student affairs or related field
