Senior Construction Quality Leader (Highway & Bridge)

About This Role

Oversee inspection and testing on large, complex highway/bridge projects, ensuring quality and adherence to specifications. This role coordinates quality through proactive communication with clients and contractors, and supervises other testing and inspection personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, observation, and inspection according to specifications to determine if work is done according to contract specifications
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results
• Develop material certification and testing tracking procedures and plans
• Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance
• Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the client
• Communicate information to National Manager and other personnel as directed by the National Manager
• Interact with client and other site personnel to provide input on appropriate resolution of findings
• Lead development of scope for testing and inspection services
• Oversee dispatch activities
• Maintain equipment operation and calibration
• Lead, provide direction, and coordinate activities of lower level inspectors
• Direct and teach advanced fieldwork to project staff
• Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects
• Maintain quality standards on all projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
• 14+ years’ related experience
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license with ability to acquire in numerous jurisdictions
• Willingness to travel
• Experience with Alternate Delivery Construction projects
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
• 14+ years’ related experience in construction inspection on highway/bridge projects
