Senior Construction Quality Leader (Highway & Bridge)

About This Role

Oversee inspection and testing on complex highway/bridge projects, ensuring quality and compliance with specifications. Lead and mentor other inspection personnel, and communicate findings to national management and clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inspection and testing on large, complex and diverse highway/bridge projects
• Oversee the work of other testing and inspection personnel, including various scope leaders
• Coordinate quality through proactive communications with the Owner and Contractor
• Perform testing, observation, and inspection in accordance with training and specified procedures
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results
• Develop material certification and testing tracking procedures and plans
• Prepare inspection reports and document nonconformance
• Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the client
• Lead development of scope for testing and inspection services
• Oversee dispatch activities
• Maintain equipment operation and calibration
• Lead, provide direction and may coordinate activities of lower level inspectors
• Direct and teach advanced fieldwork to project staff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
• Minimum of 14 years’ related experience
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license with ability to acquire in numerous jurisdictions
• Willingness to travel
• Experience with Alternate Delivery Construction projects
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
• Minimum of 14 years related experience in construction quality leadership for highway & bridge projects
