Manage multiple, concurrent construction projects from estimation through execution, ensuring they are completed within customer deadlines and budgets. This role involves leading a project management team, engaging subcontractors, and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Estimation, Post Award Kick-Off, Partnering, Pre-construction, Design Development, and Coordination meetings
- Ensure construction does not begin prior to Designer of Record (DOR) finalizing the design and submittals are approved
- Manage a team of professionals including Safety Manager, Scheduler, Estimator, Project Controller, Quality Control manager, and Site Superintendent
- Oversee successful execution of all project phases from identification to providing as-built drawings
- Directly engage subcontractors for financial and execution decisions
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring cost management and timely execution according to budgets and schedules
- Ensure contract PWS modifications are appropriately scoped, estimated, and scheduled
- Ensure the management team provides and maintains short-term, long-term, and Integrated Resource Loaded Master Schedules
- Ensure safe execution of work at multiple locations
- Ensure quality assurance across projects
- Develop and maintain customer relationships and facilitate weekly/monthly on-site meetings with government customers
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing construction projects
- 5 years of Federal construction projects and/or job order contracts experience
- Thorough working knowledge of Federal contracts and safety standards
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on active construction sites
- Clear and concise communication skills (email, phone, Teams)
- Ability to keep track of 3-5 active projects
- Proficient in reading, speaking, understanding, and writing English
- Strong working understanding of MEP trades and interior renovation and construction
- Ability to read, understand, redline and disseminate information from construction design documents and blueprints
- Working knowledge of Federal and State codes, regulations, and standards relevant to construction (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, local building codes)
- Experience in hazard identification and safety compliance
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, MS Project / Primavera
Qualifications
- BA / BS degree in Construction / Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a PMP certification with equivalent work experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing construction projects, 5 years of which must be Federal construction projects and/or job order contracts.
