Senior Construction Estimator - Commercial & Industrial Buildings

About This Role

Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects, working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for all phases of construction
• Quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Develop and maintain cost databases, unit prices, and historical cost information
• Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Evaluate bids for scope coverage, qualifications, and pricing accuracy
• Prepare bid proposals and participate in bid reviews and presentations
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners during design development to provide cost advice and value engineering solutions
• Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and revisions
• Prepare takeoffs and cost summaries using estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, ProEst, or Sage Estimating)
• Coordinate with project management and field teams to review actual costs versus estimates for continuous improvement

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience estimating commercial building construction projects
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
• Strong communication, organization, and time management abilities
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience estimating commercial building construction projects
