Senior Civil Engineer

About This Role

Join a multidisciplinary team designing and overseeing electrical substations, ensuring adherence to SRP standards and best practices while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design for SRP's portfolio of electrical substations, including equipment replacements and new installations
• Perform grading & drainage design, foundation design, and structural design
• Act as technical authority, reviewing and approving contractor designs to ensure adherence to SRP standards
• Interface with maintenance and construction crews to resolve field issues and improve future designs
• Perform and review material and labor estimates for proposed projects
• Order materials such as rebar and structural steel, and review/approve material shop drawings
• Support the development, review, and selection of contract construction bids
• Review and disposition civil-related contractor material submittals
• Collaborate with other disciplines, organizational groups, contract design consultants, and external customers on power delivery projects

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-time civil engineering practice experience
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent
• Ability to join a multidisciplinary team to execute and oversee electrical substation designs
• Proficient in grading & drainage design, foundation design, and structural design
• Ability to review and approve contractor designs to SRP standards
• Arizona driver's license

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, IEA recognized institution, ABET MRA, or state/internationally recognized PE registration
• Five (5) years full-time experience actively engaged in engineering practice, with demonstrated successful accomplishment of work defined for a Senior Engineer role.
