About This Role

Manage capital threshold and non-threshold projects and capital improvement programs for the medical center building portfolio. Identify short and long-term capital needs for building systems and coordinate project completion, operating with a high level of autonomy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage annual capital threshold and non-threshold projects and 5-10 year capital improvement program
  • Coordinate implementation of facilities capital improvement program throughout the medical center building portfolio
  • Assess equipment, systems, user input, and latest regulatory standards to ensure safe, effective equipment operation and efficient utilities usage
  • Communicate across the health system, university administration, and other university facilities departments
  • Identify short and long-term capital needs of medical buildings systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • Develop scope, procure budget estimates, and coordinate technical direction through project completion
  • Gather and analyze data, and prepare, coordinate, and present capital planning recommendations
  • Manage administrative functions of staff assigned to producing opinions of probable cost
  • Mentor and aid in the development of FOD Operations staff
  • Meet mandatory safety and educational requirements and keep current on regulatory regulations and standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience, preferably with hospital and medical building settings.

Nice to Have

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience, preferably with hospital and medical building settings, including mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experienced Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and regulatory requirements such as NEC, ASHRAE, OSHA, OBC, NFPA, TJC, FGI, ADA, HIPAA
  • Experience with CADD, Revit, BIM, or other computer drafting programs
  • Experience within a medical center/health care facility, academic, and/or infrastructure projects; public sector and/or university experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and creating presentation documents
  • Ability to create and maintain strong team collaboration and foster a positive work environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse and customer service focused environment
  • Ability to comfortably handle risk and uncertainty
  • Demonstrated proficient diagnostic skills
