About This Role

This Senior Associate role in Foundational Business Communications supports internal and external communication initiatives to boost employee engagement, executive visibility, and corporate reputation for New York Life's Foundational Business. The role involves crafting diverse communication materials and advancing measurement best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as key contributor to support internal and external communications deliverables for a diverse set of businesses and leaders
  • Support development of programs that advance corporate reputation and drive positive outcomes for Foundational Business leaders
  • Raise the overall profile of the FB strategy and major priorities among internal and external stakeholders, delivering both proactive and reactive support
  • Write and prepare a variety of important materials including leadership messages, press releases, intranet content, speaking points, video scripts, social media content, and presentations
  • Help develop and expand measurement best practices, including gathering and interpreting metrics to ensure communications projects deliver results
  • Leverage feedback, best practices, and expertise to provide best-in-class communications support, including the testing, learning and onboarding of new GenAI capabilities and Continuous Improvement
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Corporate Communications, including Corporate Design, Editorial, Digital, Video/Meetings, Content Strategy, and Employee Social Engagement
  • Ensure customer delight among partners and clients through professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of corporate communications experience
  • 5 years of in-house experience at a Fortune 500 company
  • Proactive client relationship manager with experience providing advice and counsel to senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement and excellence in a world-class organization
  • Collaborative team player with executive presence and experience participating in and managing cross-functional projects
  • Ability to navigate a complex organization and operate within ambiguity
  • Experience with change management and culture change initiatives
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent writing, listening, presentation and communications skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field
  • 8-10 years of corporate communications experience, with at least 5 years of in-house experience at a Fortune 500 company, preferably in the financial services industry
