The Senior Analyst, Growth Strategy – Performance & Reporting will influence marketing investment deployment and optimize efficiency by leading core reporting, forecasting, and business planning processes. This role drives profitable acquisition by shaping performance narratives and delivering analyses that guide strategic decision-making across the Prospect Marketing organization.
Responsibilities
- Support Forecasting & Planning: Own monthly R&O (Risk and Opportunities) forecast and annual Bottoms-Up Planning (BUP) processes.
- Think Strategically and Act Proactively: Anticipate business needs to enhance forecasting accuracy and automate reporting.
- Tell Compelling Performance Stories: Translate data into actionable insights and narratives that influence acquisition marketing strategy.
- Enable Data-Driven Decisions: Build and enhance Excel-based tools and templates for forecasting and performance analysis.
- Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with Prospect Marketing channel leads, Global Investment Optimization (GIO), and analytics partners.
- Support Senior Leadership Reviews: Prepare monthly performance readouts and executive commentary.
- Leverage TM1 and Support Marketers: Use the TM1 planning system for accurate forecast submissions and data integrity.
Requirements
- 2+ years of relevant experience in analytics, strategy, marketing performance, or financial planning
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced modeling, dashboards, automation)
- Proven ability to translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn, with a strategic mindset and passion for solving complex business problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong storytelling orientation
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field
- Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field required.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in analytics, strategy, marketing performance, or financial planning.
