Senior Accountant - Private Equity

About This Role

This role involves taking responsibility for the month-end NAV process, ensuring proper accounting for transactions within fund structures, and managing deliverables to operate funds in the Private Equity sector.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibilities on month end NAV process, including review of fund administrator reports and monthly NAV verification
• Read and understand constitutional documents and private placement memorandums to properly account for transactions within fund structures
• Perform deliverables to operate the funds and ensure deadlines are met
• Review documents related to investment purchases to properly account for transactions
• Assess the performance of the fund and strategy
• Liaise with various auditors of the fund families
• Assist with any finance related requirements for investor reporting
• Undertake ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years experience in investment fund, fund administrator, or public accounting
• Degree in accounting
• Sound understanding of US GAAP and IFRS financial and accounting principles
• Confident using Excel
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to take on ownership and responsibilities

Qualifications

• Degree educated with focus or major in accounting
• Minimum 4 years experience in working at investment fund, fund administrator, public accounting firm or similar

Nice to Have

• Qualified accountant (CPA or equivalent)
• Possession of other relevant IT skills
• Willingness to challenge status quo and seek process improvement, particularly on process automation
