About This Role

This Senior Accountant role is critical for maintaining financial health and ensuring smooth operations within a legal firm. The role involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing the general ledger, and assisting with budgets and audits.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Managing the general ledger and conducting monthly account reconciliations
• Assisting with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Ensuring compliance with all internal controls and established policies
• Assisting with the preparation of year-end financial statements and audits
• Providing financial data and support to management, helping guide business decisions
• Identifying and implementing improvements to accounting processes and procedures
• Collaborating with other departments to streamline financial operations
• Assisting with tax preparation and filing activities
• Training and mentoring junior accounting staff

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficiency in forecasting, financial statements, general ledger, and account reconciliation
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• Exceptional analytical skills and a strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the legal industry.
