Senior Accountant

About This Role

Manage and oversee all financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll, for a healthcare organization. This role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and treasury functions
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws and regulations by preparing and filing tax documents on a timely basis
• Develop and implement effective financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and financial management
• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management through financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and reviews
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and controls to improve financial reporting and data management
• Participate in special projects and initiatives as required by senior management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, state and federal tax laws and regulations, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical skills
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the healthcare industry

Nice to Have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA or Master's in Accounting
• Experience within the healthcare industry
• Experience with financial systems implementation and management
