This Senior Accountant position will lead the implementation of new accounting processes and maintain accurate financial records for First Internet Bank. The role involves preparing financial statements and playing a key part in month-end closing duties and regulatory reporting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and internal controls for the accounting function
- Develop and implement new accounting processes, procedures and controls as necessary
- Maintain the fixed asset system by recording newly acquired assets and tracking existing assets
- Monitor and record accruals and prepaid expenses
- Lead various projects as assigned by management including new system implementations, setup of new products, and/or coordination of new services
- Prepare daily journal entries and monitoring of general ledger accounts
- Prepare various regulatory reports including the Call Report and Y-9
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations
- Independently identify, research, resolve, and explain any exceptions within the reconciliation process
- Perform a review of accounts payable processing for appropriate documentation and approval and occasionally process accounts payable transactions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Five years of prior accounting or finance experience
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
