Senior Accountant

About This Role

Serve as a primary accounting partner for a client portfolio, ensuring accurate financial reporting, GAAP adherence, and insightful analysis. Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals while implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day accounting contact for a portfolio of clients, developing deep familiarity with each client’s financial operations and accounting data
• Explain the details behind financial results with clarity and accuracy
• Support client decision-making by preparing accurate and timely financial information
• Manage revenue cycle, including invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition
• Oversee expense management process, including coding, approval workflows, and accruals
• Lead or support payroll processing, preparing payroll-related journal entries and reconciling payroll activity
• Execute the monthly close process: journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and drafting management reports and KPI summaries
• Execute client compliance and maintain sound internal controls and process documentation
• Oversee compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements, preparing compliance-related reports and schedules
• Lead and mentor a team of five accounting professionals, guiding best practices, career development, and performance management
• Participate in the hiring team and help onboard new team members
• Provide constructive feedback through the Driven Insights Employee Review Program and Career Development Program

Requirements

• Experience successfully revamping accounting processes and technology
• Strong with complex revenue recognition (eg: ASC 606 for subscription revenue)
• Deep knowledge of complex payroll
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience
• Strong understanding of KPIs with track record of using to make quick, informed decisions
• Exceptionally strong Google Sheet / Microsoft Excel GAAP-compliant financial modeling skills
• Firm grasp on sales tax liability management, including usage of management tool like Avalara
• Sound written and verbal communication skills
• Proven analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making & project management skills
• Ability to use good judgement and keep client and Driven Insights information confidential
• Deliver consistent excellent customer service to internal/external customers, colleagues and management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager, plus 2+ years of audit work in a CPA firm

• Master’s in Accounting
• Xero, Intacct & NetSuite experience
