Senior Accountant

About This Role

This Senior Accountant role supports a leading global hospitality company by performing accounting duties and analysis, focusing on general ledger activities in accordance with GAAP. The position involves analyzing financial data, managing complex accounts, and collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data, perform reconciliations, and prepare complex data for recording, including month-end close activities and journal entries
• Perform all accounting for various balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Prepare supporting schedules and monthly account reconciliations
• Analyze contractual documents for proper accounting treatment
• Work closely with the Financial Reporting & Analysis Team for various reporting, including the Monthly Management Report, and assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Provide detail for fiscal year audit, annual report, and information required for federal, state, and foreign tax returns
• Maintain and update Lease Accounting and other FASB regulations
• Prepare and review TREM and various other product categories, including consulting business
• Provide guidance to other staff and may lead projects related to system implementation or process improvement
• Maintain and update system documentation and training materials
• Act as a point of contact between accounting and other departments, addressing inquiries and providing financial expertise
• Participate in special projects as deemed necessary by Manager

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Business
• 6+ years of progressive work experience in accounting
• Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze complex data and identify trends
• Strong understanding of financial processes (reconciliations, close, consolidations, reporting)
• Proficient with accounting software and spreadsheets
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong business judgment and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Business
• 6+ years of progressive work experience in accounting

Nice to Have

• CPA
• Experience with Concur, Great Plains, and/or Business Central
• Foreign currency background
