Senior Accountant

About This Role

This Senior Accountant role is critical for maintaining financial record accuracy and integrity. You will manage complex accounting tasks, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close, while supporting capital projects and external audits. The position also involves providing analysis to guide management decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions
• Prepare consolidated financial statements ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and corporate policies
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, accruals, and intercompany transactions
• Lead the accounting function for capital projects, including associated grants and incentives
• Update and maintain the fixed asset module monthly for additions, depreciation, and disposals
• Prepare month-end account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items
• Support external audit process, including responding to inquiries and preparing schedules
• Analyze financial information to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
• Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes, identifying automation or streamlining opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field
• Experience with month end close tasks including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
• Experience preparing financial statements and other analysis
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field
• 4 years of professional accounting experience required; public accounting experience preferred. Experience with month end close tasks, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation required.
