Senior Accountant

About This Role

This Senior Accountant role at an insurance client in Radnor, PA, focuses on financial reporting, general ledger management, and regulatory compliance. The position oversees monthly close processes, internal controls, and external reporting, while also driving process improvements and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, regulatory filings, and internal reports with accuracy
• Process journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close activities in Oracle and other systems
• Maintain internal controls, reconcile key accounts, and ensure financial statement alignment
• Support audit documentation, annual budgets, and ad hoc financial analyses
• Enhance monthly close efficiency through automation and best practices
• Mentor staff accountants and ensure compliance with statutory, SEC, and insurance-specific regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of public accounting or corporate accounting experience
• Expertise in financial reporting, general ledger management, and regulatory compliance
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of public accounting or corporate accounting experience, with expertise in financial reporting, general ledger management, and regulatory compliance

Nice to Have

• CPA
• Insurance industry experience with a strong understanding of statutory accounting principles (SAP)
• SEC reporting experience
• Oracle experience
