Security Specialist

About This Role

This Security Specialist role is responsible for executing various security disciplines, including personnel, industrial, physical, and information security. The role involves conducting security briefings, interviews, and managing the security clearance lifecycle, ensuring compliance with established policies and guidelines within a government administration context.

Responsibilities

• Execute security disciplines including personnel, industrial, physical, information/classification management, emergency, planning, continuity of operations, security incident response/mitigation, and security awareness training and education (SATE).
• Conduct security indoctrination briefings and debriefings.
• Conduct Personnel Security Interviews (PSIs).
• Perform records checks utilizing multiple systems/databases and provide recommendations based on policy and adjudicative guidelines.
• Manage all aspects of the life cycle of security clearances, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Programs (SAPs).
• Advise on security policies and matters impacting the organization.
• Formulate and recommend personnel security investigative requirements.
• Develop/update guidelines, procedures, and materials for the security office and clients.
• Administer programs for continuous personnel security evaluation.
• Develop/update/administer security awareness programs/training.
• Demonstrate working knowledge in badging systems and combination locks.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of classification management, contractor clearance processes, and briefing/debriefing contract personnel.

Requirements

• Working knowledge/experience in security disciplines: Personnel, Industrial, Physical, Information/classification management, Emergency, Planning, continuity of operations, security incident response/mitigation, security awareness training and education (SATE)
• Ability to conduct security indoctrination briefings and debriefings
• Ability to conduct Personnel Security Interviews (PSIs)
• Ability to conduct records checks utilizing multiple systems/databases and present recommendations
• Experience with all aspects of the life cycle of security clearances, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAPs)
• Working knowledge of self-reporting requirements and protocols
• Working knowledge in badging systems and combination locks
• Working knowledge of classification management, contractor clearance processes, and briefing/debriefing contract personnel
