About This Role

The Security Professional will conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol in a hospital environment to ensure safety and security. This role involves controlling access, monitoring systems, composing reports, and deterring criminal activity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in vehicle, documenting unusual conditions.
  • Assist hospital staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients and restrain combative individuals as necessary.
  • Transport patients to the morgue and assist in escorting patients from the helicopter pad to the emergency room.
  • Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters.
  • Sound alarms or call emergency services in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions and permit authorized persons to enter and monitor entrances and exits.
  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property.
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
  • Maintain written logs as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current driver's license (if driving company or customer vehicle)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable employment history relating to customer service or protective service industry
  • At least 18 years of age (or higher if state required)
  • Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
  • Ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately

  • Ability to undergo tuberculosis (TB) test and certain vaccinations (for healthcare facility assignment)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable employment history relating to customer service or the protective service industry (preferably security, healthcare, military, law enforcement, or corrections)

Nice to Have

  • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement or security
  • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian)
  • Verified work experience in law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
  • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
  • Minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
  • Associate's degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
