Security Officer - Retail Site Patrol

About This Role

As a Security Officer specializing in Retail Site Patrol, you will serve and safeguard clients in retail environments, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to deter security incidents and support store teams. You will also document observations and respond to concerns with professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a retail and/or mall location
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, disputes, lost children, and/or suspicious activity, and communicate updates to leadership as needed
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, common areas, back-of-house spaces, and the perimeter to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or unauthorized access
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high-value merchandise areas, observing customer traffic patterns and reporting policy violations and/or unusual behavior according to post orders
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity in written reports, and coordinate with local law enforcement and/or mall management when required by site procedures

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background investigation
• Ability to pass a drug screen

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Loss prevention experience
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet
• Customer service experience
