Security Officer - Retail Roving Patrol Driver

About This Role

As a Security Officer in Commercial Point, OH, you will conduct roving patrols in a retail environment, deterring incidents and assisting customers and staff. This role requires a valid driver's license for patrol duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and guests by performing security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Patrol retail store areas, mall common spaces, entrances, stockroom corridors, and perimeter routes to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance/operational concerns.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols, documenting observations and reporting issues per post orders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including customer disputes, disturbances, and/or medical situations, notifying emergency services as needed.
• Monitor and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or prohibited conduct using clear verbal communication and professional presence.
• Support store and mall management with access control tasks like monitoring service doors, receiving areas, and after-hours entry.
• Write clear and complete incident reports, daily activity logs, and/or shift summaries.
• Assist with loss prevention awareness by observing sales floor activity and reporting trends, maintaining a customer-focused approach.
• Provide directions and general assistance to shoppers and staff, including wayfinding, store hours, and escalation of customer concerns.
• Operate site communication tools such as radios, phones, and electronic reporting applications to coordinate responses and share timely updates.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• At least 18 years of age (for unarmed roles)
