Security Officer - Retail Roving Driver

About This Role

As a Security Officer - Retail Roving Driver, you will serve and safeguard clients in retail environments, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to reduce security incidents. You will also respond to guest and tenant concerns with strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff following security-related procedures
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas to adjust to changing conditions
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, taking appropriate actions to deter unwanted behavior
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, including disputes, medical situations, and alarms
• Maintain a visible presence near storefronts and high-traffic areas to support an orderly shopping environment
• Perform access control tasks such as checking doors and assisting with lockups
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports or electronic systems
• Communicate clearly with management, site contacts, and emergency responders using radios and phones
• Support crowd management during peak shopping periods and special events by directing foot traffic
• Observe and report damaged property, malfunctioning equipment, and maintenance concerns

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
• At least 18 years of age (21+ for armed roles)
• High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of security-related experience

Nice to Have

• Guard card/license
