Security Officer Refinery

About This Role

As a Security Officer at a petrochemical location, you will safeguard clients by managing access control, verifying credentials, and documenting security events. This role requires visible presence, routine patrols, and professional customer service to deter unwanted activity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location
• Control entry and exit for employees, contractors, and visitors by verifying identification, issuing and collecting badges, and maintaining required logs and documentation
• Screen and direct inbound and outbound vehicle and pedestrian traffic, including checking delivery paperwork and coordinating with site personnel for authorized access
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, alarms, and/or unusual activity through established communication channels
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, buildings, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and to identify maintenance and/or operational concerns

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Be at least 18 years of age (or 21+ for armed roles)
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background investigation
• Ability to pass a drug screen
