Security Officer - NYS Guard Card Patrol

About This Role

Serve and safeguard clients in various industries, primarily government, by conducting routine patrols, monitoring activity, and assisting staff and riders at a government transportation location. This role contributes to maintaining a visible security presence and a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies
• Perform emergency response activities when appropriate at a government transportation location
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout stations, platforms, mezzanines, corridors, entrances, and perimeter areas
• Monitor pedestrian flow and access points
• Identify unauthorized activity and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner
• Provide direction and request assistance during incidents
• Document actions taken during incidents and critical situations
• Complete required reports and logs
• Communicate status updates via radio and/or phone
• Support law enforcement and/or emergency services as requested

Requirements

• Possess a New York State Security Guard License
• Be at least 18 years of age (for unarmed roles)
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
