As a Security Officer in Community Foot Patrol, you will safeguard clients in various industries, including education, by monitoring assigned areas, deterring security incidents, and providing customer service. This role focuses on maintaining a visible presence and assisting students, staff, and visitors while documenting observations and concerns.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout academic buildings, galleries, studios, classrooms, offices, loading areas, and perimeter routes.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor entry processes, directions, and general questions while helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, disturbances, and medical calls, and communicate with site contacts and public responders as needed.
- Complete patrol logs and incident reports, document unusual activity or hazards, and report maintenance concerns that could impact normal operations.
Requirements
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED
- Be at least 21 years of age for this unarmed role
- Ability to pass a background investigation
- Ability to pass a drug screen
