Security Officer - Armed Government Patrol

About This Role

Serve and safeguard clients at a government location by conducting routine armed patrols, responding to security concerns, and ensuring access control.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas, noting unusual activity and reporting concerns per post orders.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with supervisors and/or public agencies as directed.
• Control access by screening individuals and vehicles as required, verifying identification and authorizations, and directing traffic flow when assigned.
• Complete detailed shift documentation such as incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity reports, and maintain accountability of assigned equipment and duty weapon in accordance with Allied Universal policy.

Requirements

• 21+ years of age for armed roles
• Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge OR an associates degree OR 60 college credits OR a police academy certificate OR a corrections academy certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or GED, or an associate's degree or 60 college credits, or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.

Nice to Have

• Handcuffing certification
