Security Officer

About This Role

As a Security Officer in Pittsburgh, PA, you will primarily safeguard clients in the education industry by greeting students, staff, and visitors, supporting access points through screening and badge checks, and conducting routine patrols to maintain campus safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies while supporting a welcoming campus environment at designated entry points
• Screen people and items entering the location by verifying identification, checking authorization, and conducting bag/package screening as required by post orders
• Monitor entry and queuing areas, assist with directions and access questions, and document visitor access and/or deliveries according to site procedures
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency services as directed
• Complete required reports and logs, communicate observations to site leadership, and support security-related emergency response activities when appropriate

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background investigation
• Ability to pass a drug screen
