Security Officer

About This Role

As a Part-Time Security Officer at a shopping center in Columbia Heights, MN, you will patrol assigned areas, monitor access, respond to incidents, and provide customer service to safeguard clients and customers. You will contribute to a safe environment by observing and reporting unusual activity, ensuring authorized entry and exit, and maintaining high visibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by executing security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the shopping center, including interior spaces, exterior grounds, and parking areas.
• Monitor access control points, check identification, and help maintain authorized entry and exit in accordance with site procedures.
• Observe and report unusual activity, potential policy violations, and/or hazards, escalating issues as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, coordinating with site contacts and/or public emergency services.
• Use radio and/or phone communications to relay status updates, incident information, and service requests.
• Complete detailed reports, logs, and incident documentation using required tools, including electronic reporting platforms.
• Perform routine checks of doors, gates, and common areas to identify unsecured conditions or maintenance concerns, reporting findings through designated processes.
• Support a professional, service-focused presence, providing directions and general assistance while maintaining security awareness.
• Follow all Allied Universal and site policies, including confidentiality expectations related to proprietary information and operations.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

• high school diploma or equivalent
• Customer service experience is preferred.
