Security Officer

About This Role

This role involves safeguarding clients as a Security Officer by screening individuals and materials entering a logistics and distribution location, assisting with access control, and responding to incidents while maintaining a professional and visible presence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screening of individuals, packages, and/or materials entering the logistics and distribution location in accordance with site-specific procedures and policies
• Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting visitors in a professional manner while carrying out security-related procedures
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established Allied Universal protocols
• Perform regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify any irregularities
• Document and report any suspicious activities, security-related incidents, or breaches of policy to the appropriate personnel
• Assist with access control by verifying credentials and monitoring entry and exit points as required
• Support emergency response activities as needed, including following evacuation procedures and assisting with crowd control

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen
• Licensing requirements may apply subject to state and/or local laws

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Loss prevention experience
• Access control or badge experience
• Customer service experience
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet
