Seasonal Cashier

About This Role

The Seasonal Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service by assisting customers with their needs, managing transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment. This role involves cross-functional training to support various store departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide SMART customer service by executing Lowe's policies and procedures
• Assist customers by understanding their needs, locating merchandise, and explaining product information
• Write customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs in the Tool Rental Department
• Cross-train in other store areas to enhance customer service delivery
• Detect and report signs of shoplifting, theft, and security risks to management
• Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards to maintain store cleanliness and organization
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment by conducting safety reviews and noting hazards
• Adhere to all safety requirements relevant to job duties, including proper equipment use and safety devices
• Operate store equipment such as Zebra phones, paging systems, computers, and specialized department tools

Requirements

• Less than 1 year experience using a computer for information input, access, modification, or output
• Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology such as smartphones and tablets
• Less than 1 year retail experience, including identifying and selling products, explaining warranties, assisting customers, building relationships, resolving issues, and maintaining store standards
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as required by law

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience using a computer and common retail technology; less than 1 year retail experience performing various customer service and sales tasks
