Scrum Master

About This Role

Serve as an Agile Scrum Master for the Readiness and Employment System (RES) contract within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This role involves leading an Agile team, facilitating Scrum practices, removing impediments, and guiding the team to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Act as a servant-leader for an Agile team, ensuring they follow Scrum practices while overcoming obstacles and improving continuously
• Facilitate team meetings, remove impediments to progress
• Coach the team on Agile principles
• Help the product owner find techniques for effective product backlog management in Atlassian Jira
• Facilitate and guide the team in adopting and implementing the Scrum framework
• Organize and lead Scrum ceremonies, participate in Program Increment Planning
• Promote collaboration and ensure adherence to Scrum principles and values
• Work closely with the product owner and development team to plan and execute sprints, daily stand-ups and sprint reviews
• Create and maintain project timelines
• Identify and manage risks and monitor progress against project goals
• Facilitate Scrum events: Daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other meetings
• Act as a liaison to improve communication between the development team and those outside the team

Requirements

• Experience working in Agile environment
• Leadership skills and experience
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to explain intricate and complicated concepts and ideas

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience
• 8+ years experience (or commensurate experience)

• Experience with Atlassian Confluence
• Experience with Jira
