Scheduler

About This Role

The Scheduler at Wellstar Health System provides outstanding customer service by scheduling Medical Imaging appointments and handling clerical procedures. This role ensures efficient scheduling, adherence to quality and productivity standards, and proper communication within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service to customers in a fast-paced busy environment
• Drive system wide volumes by scheduling Medical Imaging appointments via inbound and/or outbound telephone calls or in person
• Observe Quality and Productivity standards and other Key Performance Indicators
• Perform a wide variety of clerical procedures that requires independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the utilization of computers and other equipment
• Handle communications properly and be dependable and cooperative
• Work with staff and understand appropriate scheduling process, willing to learn procedures/patient preps
• Assist physician's office staff with scheduling issues in a timely manner
• Handle heavy phone volume
• Be flexible with work hours to meet department needs

Requirements

• High School Diploma General or GED General
• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or medical scheduling
• Strong customer service skills
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to type with a high degree of accuracy
• Computer skills to accurately input data into scheduling software

Qualifications

• High School Diploma General or GED General
• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or medical scheduling

Nice to Have

• Basic insurance carrier and pre-certification knowledge
• Medical Terminology preferred
