This Sales Manager role at Ulta Beauty is responsible for leading a high-performing team to drive sales growth, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and ensure operational excellence. The manager focuses on performance metrics, team development, and adherence to company processes in a dynamic retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Promote accountability to meet or exceed Ulta Beauty’s goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty, payroll, omni-channel, and retail shrink.
- Drive company profitability by identifying underperforming metrics and developing strategies leveraging company programs and resources.
- Oversee store scheduling to maximize productivity, achieve sales and payroll goals, and complete workload within budget.
- Plan and execute in-store events to deliver unrivaled guest experiences and drive sales.
- Review and analyze Ulta Beauty’s financial and operational reporting, including store visit and audit results.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest service.
- Stay informed on new and existing industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
- Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of top talent.
- Support associate professional development through training, feedback, coaching, and succession planning.
- Ensure team participation in ongoing brand and category education.
- Establish professional brand partner relationships to collaboratively achieve sales and service goals.
- Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
- Utilize company scheduling and task management tools as directed.
- Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring all store standards and operating procedures are met.
Requirements
- 2-3+ years of fast-paced, retail management, or other relevant work experience
- Financial management experience (driving sales, interpreting data, managing payroll budgets, controlling expense)
- Retail management experience (monitoring inventory, achieving operational excellence, driving service culture, executing merchandising directives)
- Leadership management experience (attracting, developing, motivating talent, adapting to change, building relationships, leading and influencing teams)
- Proficient with basic technology (Point of Sale system, Microsoft Office programs, Apple devices)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment, and be flexible/adaptable
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 2-3+ years of fast-paced, retail management, or other relevant work experience
