RN Unit Coordinator Internal Medicine

About This Role

The Registered Nurse Coordinator provides direct nursing care and applies clinical nursing knowledge and skills, ensuring patient and family safety and comfort. This role also involves providing team leadership to enhance unit flow and functioning within Kelsey-Seybold Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards
• Provide team leadership to enhance station or unit flow and functioning

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved RN nursing program
• Valid and current Texas RN license
• Current BCLS through American Heart Association
• 2+ years in a clinical area related to assigned department
• Experience leading a team
• Ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population and for CPR, oxygen administration and intravenous therapy
• CRT experience

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved RN nursing program
• 2+ years in a clinical area related to assigned department

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's Degree
• Specialty nursing certification appropriate to specialty area assigned
• Windows-based computer skills
• ACLS
• 2+ years of ambulatory care
• Supervisory experience
