About This Role

Join the Termeer Center at Mass General Brigham, a leading clinical trials unit, to administer phase 1 research drugs to adult cancer patients and contribute to the discovery of new cancer therapies.

Responsibilities

• Interpret the plan of medical care and assess patients' clinical needs, making decisions regarding nursing care
• Ensure nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, offering individualized care to groups of patients
• Evaluate nursing care for groups of patients
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
• Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions or side effects
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions
• Educate patients and manage symptoms for those participating in clinical trials, documenting toxicities per protocol

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing
• 0-1 year clinical nursing experience
• Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Familiarity with principles and skills for practical nursing and patient care
• Knowledgeable of care required by respective age groups
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
• 0-1 year clinical nursing experience required

Nice to Have

• Two years oncology RN experience
• Oncology Infusion RN experience
• Current chemotherapy certification
