RN Staff 3 (ICU)

About This Role

The RN Staff 3 (ICU - FT) assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients and their families in an ICU setting. This role functions as a proficient nurse providing leadership and direction to the nursing care team, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and personal care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients and their families in a safe environment
• Function as a Proficient nurse within the competency checklist of the assigned unit (ICU)
• Provide effective leadership and direction to the nursing care team
• Ensure patients' comfort, safety, and personal care
• Perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas, subject to reasonable accommodations
• Employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures
• Participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, including wearing a respirator if required

Requirements

• Education required to qualify for Registered Nurse license
• 12 months experience in ICU specialty within the last three years
• Clinical experience demonstrating competencies including EKG rhythms by exam
• Current California Registered Nurse License
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AHA)
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (AHA)
• Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification

Qualifications

• Education required to qualify for license as a registered nurse, B.S.N. preferred
• 12 months experience within the last three years within the specialty area (ICU)

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
