About This Role

Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) from birth through the lifecycle, utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Function within organizational policies and procedures, demonstrating professional growth and accountability while coordinating care activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients
  • Function within the framework of organizational policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate professional growth and accountability
  • Maintain standards of practice
  • Coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff
  • Perform patient assessments, collecting data regarding physical, psychosocial, and health history
  • Appropriately evaluate developmental age for assessments, treatments, and patient/family education
  • Formulate a plan of care based on patient data and identified needs
  • Carry out the plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes

Requirements

  • Graduate from a nursing program
  • Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
  • Active BCLS certification
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting for PRN positions

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a nursing program Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • No experience required for new graduates; 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable

Certifications

ACLS Certification (within 6 months of start date for specific specialties like Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services) (Required) PALS Certification (within 6 months of start date for Emergency Department, Pediatrics, Surgical Services if caring for pediatric patients) (Required) CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) preferred for Dialysis specialty (Required) Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration for Infusion/Oncology specialty (Required) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) by end of orientation period for Womens Services specialties (Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) (Required) AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months for Labor and Delivery specialty (Required)
