This role is for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Pulmonary Unit, responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating nursing care for patients with pulmonary and respiratory diagnoses.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with standards of nursing practice through implementation of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis
- Administer medications as ordered for specific group of patients and demonstrates knowledge of their modes of action, side effects and contraindications
- Initiate, regulate and otherwise manages IV therapy for a specific group of assigned patients
- Assume responsibility for patient placement on the unit and assignment of care responsibilities that consider complexity of nursing care required by each patient
- Evaluate patient environment for safety and communicates identified concerns to the appropriate person in a timely manner
- Provide patient education and keeps patient informed of treatment plan
Requirements
- Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing
- Basic computer and hospital informatics skills
- Current CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada
Qualifications
- Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing
- Current acute clinical care experience preferred
Nice to Have
- BSN preferred
- Specialty Certification where required (e.g., Chemotherapy, ACLS, PALS)
- Current acute clinical care experience preferred
