The RN in Internal Medicine performs comprehensive nursing care procedures, assessments, treatments, and techniques within a physician's office or clinic setting, supporting medical care directed by the provider. This role involves rendering professional nursing services and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide total nursing care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing care procedures, assessments, treatments, and techniques within a physician's office or clinic setting
- Render professional nursing services in support of medical care directed by the provider
- Work closely with or lead other professional and ancillary personnel in providing total nursing care to patients
- Take and record vital signs and medical histories
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures
- Draw blood and start IV’s
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by a medical provider
- Triage patient calls and make decisions for care as directed by providers
- Coordinate ongoing care of elderly patients in alternative living situations or in need of end-of-life care
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing
- 1 year of Acute Care Nursing experience
- State of Alaska RN License
- BLSP (CPR) from the American Heart Association
