This role involves leading patient care through the nursing process within regulatory frameworks, effectively delegating tasks to team members, and ensuring quality patient outcomes while demonstrating cultural sensitivity. The RN contributes to unit and departmental strategic goals and maintains professional responsibility for their practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead in the provision of patient care using the nursing process
- Effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members
- Assume accountability for quality patient outcomes
- Exhibit sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions
- Maintain involvement in activities aimed toward achievement of unit and department’s strategic goals
- Demonstrate professional responsibility and accountability for own practice
- Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly
- Serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team
- Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes
- Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy and communication style
Requirements
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
(Required)
Certification In Clinical Specialty Area
(Required)
