About This Role

Provide professional nursing care to clinic patients with cardiovascular conditions, performing diagnostic tests, educating patients, and assisting in their treatment within an interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as part of an interdisciplinary care team in the treatment of cardiac-vascular conditions
  • Interpret data and respond to urgent situations to optimize patient care and produce positive outcomes
  • Perform and interpret various cardiac and vascular lab tests
  • Work closely with cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, electrophysiologists, and other physicians
  • Participate in clinical trials and clinical research programs as per clinic needs
  • Document legible and concise entries in the medical record
  • Perform appropriate patient preparation for each visit and/or procedure
  • Educate patients on cardiovascular diseases, including preventive measures
  • Assist in performing diagnostic tests such as ECG’s, EKG’s
  • Initiate Holter and Event monitors
  • Interact with patients and their families pre and post treatment
  • Monitor the patient and their vitals, especially cardiovascular readings
  • Possess knowledge of ACC/AHA guidelines related to heart failure
  • Provide general nursing care to patients as necessary for office treatment
  • Respond to and refer to incoming telephone calls
  • Post tests and examination results
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing
  • Minimum of three years Cardiac RN experience
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification within 60 days of hire
  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of registered nursing
  • Minimum of three years Cardiac RN experience in an acute care or cardiology clinic setting

Nice to Have

  • Cardiac Medicine Certification (CMC) through American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN)
  • Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification (CV-BC) through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
