About This Role

Provide competent, compassionate, individualized nursing care for specific patients and their families in an ambulatory care setting, collaborating with practice leadership and the patient care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and record allergy skin testing (prick test and intradermal testing) and challenges
  • Apply and interpret patch testing
  • Screen, dose, and administer allergy injections
  • Instruct and administer spirometry testing
  • Screen, mix, and administer Xolair/Nucala and Fasenra
  • Educate patients and families regarding allergies, asthma, and commonly used medications
  • Mix allergenic extracts/testing materials
  • Triage patients by telephone
  • Process prescription refills to pharmacies
  • Recognize and treat medical emergencies, specifically anaphylaxis
  • Perform specialty testing for drug and food allergies
  • Conduct desensitizations to venom, aspirin, and other specialty drugs
  • Perform food challenges for both adult and pediatric populations
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor for reactions or side effects
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Nursing or Bachelor's Degree Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • 0-1 year clinical nursing experience
  • Familiarity with nursing principles for patient care
  • Knowledgeable of care required by respective age groups
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Nursing Required Or Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
  • Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required

Nice to Have

  • Two Years of RN Experience
  • 1-2 Years of In-Patient Experience
