Retail Shortage Control Associate

About This Role

As a Part-Time Shortage Control Associate, you will contribute to a secure shopping environment and deliver exceptional customer service by mitigating theft and creating a safe shopping experience. This role requires vigilance, knowledge of theft trends, and a positive demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance and awareness of surroundings
• Greet every customer entering or exiting the store with a warm smile and friendly greeting
• Create a secure environment and reduce opportunities for theft
• Possess knowledge of top shortage areas and support programs for theft reduction
• Effectively communicate information about theft prevention during store rallies
• Conduct bag and package checks on store and corporate associates
• Provide support in training associates on shortage reduction programs and processes
• Role-model safety as a top priority and address unsafe practices promptly
• Identify and report theft incidents and/or suspicious subjects to the Manager on Duty

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred
