Residential Counselor

About This Role

Provide direct support to individuals with psychiatric conditions in a residential setting, fostering independence and improving quality of life. Collaborate with an integrated team to implement recovery-oriented treatment plans and manage medication.

Responsibilities

• Orient new individuals to the residence
• Collaborate with Integrated Team members to address needs of individuals served
• Implement treatment plan interventions as directed by the Team LPHA Clinician
• Perform day-to-day assignments as directed by the Program Director
• Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent and strengths-based approaches
• Store, administer, document, and dispose of medication consistent with Medication Administration Program (MAP) requirements
• Create opportunities for individuals to participate in residence operation, including meal preparation and maintenance
• Encourage social interaction and create a collaborative environment
• Assist individuals with meal preparation
• Act as an advocate for individuals served
• Complete all required documentation
• Help individuals use crisis intervention techniques and access on-call back up when needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid US driver's license for at least six months
• Ability to pass a driver's screening background check
• At least 21 years of age

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s degree in a human service discipline preferred.
• One to two years of job-specific experience in human services field preferred.
