Provide direct care, companionship, and support to clients in a residential mental health setting, assisting with daily living skills, medication, and transportation to promote their independence and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Provide caring companionship and assistance with daily tasks to clients
- Provide personal care services and support for daily living skills and independent activities
- Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing, encouraging client participation
- Pass medications and perform delegated medical care under Registered Nurse guidance
- Transport clients to and from the program as necessary for treatment services
- Maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation of services
Requirements
- Must be 18 or older at the time of hire
- Valid driver's license from state of residence or obtained within 30 days of hire
- Safe driving record
- Ability to pass a DHS criminal background check
- Ability to frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, climb stairs, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
- Ability to complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings
Qualifications
- Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred
