About This Role

This role involves working as a direct care team member to serve adults with serious mental illness, support life skills development, provide therapeutic interventions, and manage clinical documentation and household tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with serious mental illness
  • Support the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions
  • Keep accurate clinical documentation
  • Provide housekeeping and meal preparation
  • Administer medication
  • Assist clients in meeting their Activities of Daily Living (ADL)

Requirements

  • Ability to work as a member of a direct care team
  • Ability to support the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions
  • Ability to keep accurate clinical documentation
  • Ability to provide housekeeping, meal preparation, and medication administration
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Ability to pass a DHS criminal background check
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as talking, listening, using hands, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Human Development) or related field OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education
  • Minimum three (3) years of verifiable behavioral health experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs in a supervised setting OR Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred for Personal Care Associate roles.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP)
  • Experience as a Residential Assistant (RA)
  • Experience as a Residential Counselor
  • Experience as a Skills Trainer
  • Experience Caregiving for a client experiencing severe mental illness (e.g. memory care in an Assisted Living Facility)
  • Bilingual or Multilingual (Spanish/English desired)
