About This Role

Support multiple research projects focused on non-pharmacological treatments for cognitive impairments in older adults with neurologic injury and disease. The role involves participant recruitment, neuropsychological testing, data entry, and assisting with scientific administration.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit older adult participants with cognitive changes for non-pharmacological studies
  • Screen potential participants using electronic medical records
  • Contact eligible participants and families to explain studies
  • Schedule study visits and follow informed consent procedures
  • Conduct participant visits at the Rachel Upjohn Building and the functional MRI laboratory
  • Administer, score, and record neuropsychological testing
  • Administer tDCS or TMS treatments
  • Enter data into a secure database and assist with participant compensation
  • Engage in data management activities
  • Perform scientific administration and clerical activities as directed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Associate Degree
  • Experience working with cognitively impaired older adults, or administration of cognitive testing, rehabilitation, or brain stimulation
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under time constraints, and meet deadlines
  • Outstanding organizational and record-keeping skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, share resources, and adapt to change
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Reliable transportation

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or Associate Degree
  • 0-1 year full time experience for Research Technician Associate; 1-3 years full time experience for Research Technician Intermediate

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related Health Science discipline
  • Familiarity with UMHS electronic medical record system
  • Proficiency in neuropsychological test administration
  • Knowledge of Detroit and Ann Arbor area
