Join a research laboratory in the Department of Internal Medicine to contribute to lung epithelial biology, tissue regeneration, and disease mechanisms research. The role involves cell culture, data collection, analysis, and record-keeping, offering a collaborative environment with translational impact on lung health.
Responsibilities
- Perform three-dimensional cell culture of lung tissues as organoids
- Conduct confocal microscopy
- Perform immunohistochemistry
- Isolate DNA/RNA and conduct RT-qPCR analysis
- Maintain research reagents
- Maintain detailed records of laboratory procedures
- Assist in the preparation of research papers and meeting presentations
Requirements
- High school diploma or associates degree
- 2+ years experience in cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Ability to develop solutions to basic technical problems
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow laboratory procedures tightly and maintain accurate records
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Minimum 1-year commitment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or associates degree
- At least 2 years experience in cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques (can include undergraduate part-time laboratory work)
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in the life sciences
- Experience in three-dimensional culture of lung cells
- Working knowledge of lung biology
- Record of contribution to publications
