About This Role

Manage the operations of a biorepository lab, including staff scheduling, instrument maintenance, data management, and cost recovery. This role ensures safety measures, staff training, and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cost recovery via iLab and People Soft, including contract management and placing inventory orders and generating POs/invoices
  • Manage staff schedule, ensure equal distribution of tasks, up to date staff training, cross-training of staff in various lab processes, ensure staff availability in emergencies if needed
  • Organize the lab and ensure safety measures are followed on a regular basis and all necessary documentation completed
  • Complete staff annual performance evaluations
  • Ensure equipment monitoring and preventative maintenance is carried out as outlined in biorepository policies
  • Ensure equipment is repaired asap if out of order
  • Manage Lab Vantage, the biorepository LIMS, and work with IT to clean up demographics, diagnosis, stage, grade and related parameters
  • Help generate concise sample inventory on a regular basis
  • Work with Cancer Registry/EPIC/pathology system to import data into LV either via an interface or manually
  • Liaise with PIs and other MCG and GCC staff to market biorepository

Requirements

  • Ph.D. with a minimum of one year directly applicable experience; previous supervisory experience
  • OR Master's degree with a minimum of five years progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development experience and previous supervisory experience
  • OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of eight years progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development experience and previous supervisory experience

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. from an accredited college or university OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum one year directly applicable experience with a Ph.D., five years with a Master's degree in progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development, or eight years with a Bachelor's degree in progressive grant management, resources management and quality assurance program development. Previous supervisory experience is required for all.
