About This Role

Manage daily rental asset activities, track fleet inventory metrics, forecast fleet needs, and ensure efficiency in fleet readiness to increase profitability for designated rental fleet inventory lines. This role involves data analysis, collaboration with sales and operations teams, and supervising multiple employees.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day Rental Asset activities and performance by tracking fleet inventory metrics and monitoring fleet changes
  • Produce quarterly fleet forecasts and make recommendations on fleet needs and rollout plans
  • Compile and analyze data reports regarding utilization, unit status, and other metrics; make actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate with Sales Teams to provide solutions for customer rental and sales requests from the fleet
  • Coordinate with Rental Operations teams to assess rental fleet location needs and recommend actions
  • Collaborate with Service Operations to approve large repairs based on equipment maintenance history and asset financials
  • Collaborate with the Used Equipment team regarding inspections, planning, and advertising of rollout units
  • Direct fleet additions or rollouts, ensuring efficiency and quality control of rental and sale make-ready processes
  • Consult with vendors to obtain quotes, lead times, and track delivery dates of orders
  • Ensure accuracy of data for machine model, configuration, warranty, memos, inventory accounts, and acquisition cost
  • Review group level and individual asset maintenance metrics regarding performance and work orders, ensuring accuracy
  • Find process improvements to increase efficiency in all fleet management processes
  • Implement all policies, procedures, short-term/long-term departmental strategies and goals
  • Ensure compliance to all local, state, federal and/or company policies, procedures, and/or regulations
  • Monitor and manage budget within scope of responsibility
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within Warren CAT Sales, Service, and Rental teams
  • Supervise multiple employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning work, setting expectations, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving problems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years' experience in the equipment industry
  • Proficient fleet inventory forecasting skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite, internal systems, web-based systems)
  • Intermediate problem-solving, decision making, analytical, interpersonal, relationship building, communication, leadership and influencing skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Professionalism and diplomacy to approach others and manage emotional or ambiguous situations with clarity and self-control
  • Supervisory experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • 3-5 years' experience in the equipment industry
